Economic Impact and DevelopmentA 2002 economic impact study survey indicates that 51.5 jobs are created by firms and government located at or supported by the Earlton-Timiskaming Regional Airport. Income and expenditures generated by the Airport represent a total of $1,675,000., most of which is spent in the Temiskaming area. The Airport encompasses approximately 600 acres of land, with the majority being leased for agricultural purposes. In addition to existing activity at the airport, there is ample room for future commercial development due to its close proximity to major road, rail, telecommunications, fiber-optic cable, hydro and its natural gas services. Lot sizes can be tailored to meet client-specific requirements. In 2001, a property development review by the firm of Marshall, Macklin, Monaghan finalized a development layout plan for the airport property. This plan formally describes the development areas for any industry interested in locating at the airport. Contact the Airport at (705)563-2215 or fax (705)563-2299 for information. |
